Jeff was recently names as athlete ambassador for this month's Canadian Figure Skating Championship. Congratulations Jeff! You can read the announcement, but please note that the article is incorrect in stating that Jeff will be participating in the closing Gala on January 17. Jeff is thrilled to be appointed athlete ambassador, but is unable to appear at the Gala.




Jeff won the audience and television vote for Amway International's Improv Ice. Congratulations Jeff!




BMO Financial is one of the sponsors for Skate Canada and has been putting up promotion posters in various cities. Jeff is one of the skaters featured and can be seen on windows in Toronto, London & Vancouver.




It's one thing for a skater to pick their music and get a program choreographed and have several weeks to practice it but it's entirely different when they only have a few hours! Tune in to NBC on Friday, December 25th from 3-5pm to see Jeff and fellow cast members test their skills at Amway Global Improv Ice! Musical guests are the Goo Goo Dolls and fellow skaters include Sasha Cohen, Kurt Browning, Evan Lysacek and many more!

Jeff is currently being featured in CTV's "Believe" campaign, promoting the 2010 Olympics.? Jeff's tv spot? shows him skating, and has him talking to the camera about what the Olympics in Turin meant to him.? Very inspiring!? View the spot on the CTV website




It seems as if Jeff just cannot stop performing! He's added an amazing 11 new performances to his schedule! Events include:



Jeff returned to Japan to celebrate the launch of his book as well as sign copies for fans. It was a big success with jeff signing hundreds of copies. Check out some photos from the signing.

Following his return to the States, Jeff performed in Improv-Ice in Anaheim. The show's concept had skaters drawing their music selections at the venue with only two hours to come up with choreography for both. Jeff's first was to "Come On Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson and his second was to "Black Balloon" performed live by the Goo Goo Dolls. The show will air December 25th on NBC from 3-5pm EST. Jeff has added several new events to his schedule: Scott Hamilton CARES - November 7th in Cleveland, OH; GE Plaza rink on Robson St. - November 23rd in Vancouver, BC; and Holiday Festival on Ice which will be a series of four shows this year: December 4 in Abbotsford, BC; December 5 in Penticton, BC; December 6 in Dawson Creek, BC; Decemer 8 in Lethbridge, AB.




Good news for Jeff's overseas fans - you can now order copies of Jeff's photo book. The book is available from Amazon Japan. Their site is available partially in English. This is the page for the book. It's a bit tricky to navigate with only partial English translations but if you compare to the US Amazon.com you can figure out some of the button translations. The main point is that they ship overseas! (thanks to Asako for the information).

Jeff competed in the Japan Open, which took place on October 3, 2009.? The format was a team competition with each skater performing an ISU LP.? Jeff skated for team North America, and came in 2nd to Stephane Lambiel amongst the men's field.? Jeff's score for his LP was 142.26.? He skated his David Wilson choreographed program to "Eclogue", and Team NA finished second overall to Team Europe. Jeff's LP is up on YouTube (though it may not last long.

Also in September, Jeff performed at the Ice Champions Live show that is a benefit for the Michael Weiss Foundation that gives scholarships to upcoming skaters. He skated his "Eclogue" long program and got a great crowd response. Photos from the show are in the gallery.




Jeff's coffee table photo book will be released at book stores in Japan on September 25th!? Pre-orders are now being accepted on-line at http://www.tvlife.jp/book/jeffreybuttle/.? Unfortunately the site is only in Japanese, but hopefully some of Jeff's Japanese fans can translate how?fans outside of Japan can purchase copies.?Check out a sneak preview of some of the photos.
